Tactical Voting in Buckingham
So what are the tactical voting site recommendations for the Buckingham constituency?
Jon Worth in his 2019 UK General Election Tactical Voting Guide recommend a vote for the Lib Dems' Stephen Dorrell, as the candidate best placed to defeat the Brexit-supporting Tory here.
The site tactical.vote lists the five principal sites, and where there is a clear recommendation it is for our candidate Stephen Dorrell. Two sites, People's Vote and Best for Britain, opt for Stephen.
No site recommends a vote for the Labour candidate, who trails in third place according to our canvass returns over the past four weeks.
There is no Green candidate. He stood aside in favour of the Lib Dems in the Remain United agreement.
Of the other sites, tactical.vote is 'not sure', Remain United, says 'none'. tacticalvote.co.uk opts for 'tbc'.
Buckingham is described as an 'unusual' seat. There has not been a true General Election campaign here since 2005, at the height of the popular Blair government. Circumstances are quite different today. This is not natural Labour territory, and we find no evidence that Labour could take this seat from third place. But with the help of widespread tactical voting, the Lib Dems are in with a chance.
