South Oxon Lib Dems working for overall council control on May 4.

South Oxon Lib Dems, in partnership with the Greens, currently hold 18 of the 36 seats on the district council. The May 4 election is their opportunity to gain a clear majority and they are working hard to reach that goal.

The message from residents on the doorstep is that there is no love for the Conservatives, whose record on housing, local services, education and infrastructure was damaging for the area when they were in charge.

A team of volunteers from the Buckingham party, including Bernwood councillor Sue Lewin, helped Haseley Brook ward candidate Georgina Heritage canvassing last weekend. There is great concern in this area that unsustainable housing development at nearby Harrington could ruin the character of the surrounding villages and put pressure on local services.

Lib Dems and Greens are opposed to this type of development and Georgina and her colleagues are getting a lot of support.
