SAVI Winslow meeting Winslow Combined School 20th May 7.30pm

19 May 2009

A leading British pollution expert will address the latest SAVI (Stop Aylesbury Vale Incinerator) meeting at Winslow Combined School on 20th May at 7.30pm

Dr Dick van Steenis MBBS will speak at the meeting. He is a renowned British pollution expert who has spoken at numerous international conferences both here and abroad.

He is a retired GP living in Wales who will be giving evidence at another hearing about incinerators next week but thankfully is free and available for 20th.

His information will be vital here, not least as he will be explaining about how the UK government has failed to act to protect the population from pollutants, for example by failing to monitor emissions from incinerators, in stark contrast to US and Canadian authorities.

SAVI says it will be moving up several gears after having him talk.

His talk will focus on the health impacts of incinerators, particularly the 2.5 particulates which can't be picked up in the so called 'cleaning' process. New European regulations are due to be introduced which will stop incinerators like that proposed at Greatmoor/Calvert from being built. Hence a rush by local authorities to try and push plans through.

Please contact everyone and anyone whom you think is important to get them to come to this meeting.
