More room for MPs. But is it fair on consitituencies

Do you feel your point of view is not being heard? Or perhaps there is something important happening in your life and no-one is is taking you seriously?

Every constituent has the right to contact their MP about issues that are important to them. Your MP must also make due considerations and respond as appropriate. In some cases they may invite you to meet with them to discuss your concerns.

In this way you can get your point across to someone who works at the House of Commons. In some cases they may well raise your concerns in the House of Commons.

This is how our representative democracy works.

In our Constituency our MP is John Bercow. Unfortunately, because Mr. Bercow is the Speaker, he is more restricted as to what he can and can not do as an MP. Even so, Mr. Bercow will respond to any contact made by his constituents and has a reasonable track record of ensuring your concerns will be passed onto the correct people. (The Liberal Democrats have a policy that the Speaker should not be an MP as this does put significant restrictions on that person as an MP, but should become the "MPs' MP"; more on this to follow).
