Anja Schaefer selected as Buckingham PPC

Anja Schaefer has been elected by a clear majority of local Liberal Democrat members to be the new prospective parliamentary candidate for the Buckingham constituency.

Anja is currently the local party Chair, a Buckingham Town Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Buckingham. She plays a very active role in her local community, where she has lived for over 30 years after relocating from Germany to complete her studies.

Anja is a Senior Lecturer in business studies at the Open University, specialising in the development of small to medium size businesses (SMEs).

Anja's message to local residents is:

"If elected, I will be a strong new voice in Westminster. I will use my experience as a Buckingham Town Councillor and Chair of the local Lib Dems to stand up for the interests of the people of this region.

"I will be a champion for new economic opportunities. As an academic specialising in the development of small to medium sized businesses, I will create opportunities for much-needed economic growth for our area.

"Finally, I will be a protector of our natural environment. I am a member of the Green Liberal Democrats and will ensure that all policies for this area are carried out in sympathy with the protection of our natural habitats."
