Llew Monger - Winslow Liberal Democrats

Llew Monger

Llew has a strong track record of delivery for Winslow during his time on Winslow Town Council and the former Aylesbury Vale Council. He led the development of the original Neighbourhood Plan which was supported by 98% in a community referendum. Llew secured grant funding and negotiated the purchase of what is now Tomkins Park and Arboretum and helped set up the Farmers Market. Bucks Council wanted to scrap the former Multi-Use Games Area when they demolished the old secondary school and the youth centre, but Llew arranged for it to be relocated to Winslow Combined School at no cost to the school.

By taking action to prevent the conversion of 28 High Street to flats, Llew secured a home for Winslow Town Council, free meeting spaces for local organisations, office space for the Community Bus administration and a base for the Winslow Food Cupboard. Now, he wants to do even more for Winslow by representing the town at Bucks Council. As Llew says, ‘’There’s always something to be done to make Winslow a better place for our residents and to find ways of supporting local organisations

My Priorities for Winslow

The May 1st elections in Buckinghamshire will be a clear choice between a fresh start with the Lib Dems or more of the same with the Conservatives.

  • Llew will maintain pressure on Bucks Council to minimise the impact of their charges in Greyhound Lane Car Park and at the new Winslow Rail Station which are set to bring parking chaos to Winslow.

  • Housing growth around Winslow is inevitable. Llew will work with county planners, Winslow Town Council, the community and developers to ensure that we have the right houses in the right places at the right time, and with the necessary infrastructure.

  • Llew will maintain contact with Winslow residents through regular issues of his FOCUS newsletter and by holding councillor surgeries every month. He will continue to support community groups and local people in need.

Winslow Ward will elect just one councillor to represent the town at Bucks Council. Llew will bring experience, commitment and action to this vital role.
