Seb Berry

Seb Berry

Seb Berry is the former Independent District councillor for Great Missenden, who represented dozens of residents, businesses and organisations during the long HS2 hybrid bill process. As a councillor he also dealt with numerous resident issues, including speeding and parking, housing problems, and the roll out of wheely bins. Now semi-retired, Seb has over 40 years experience working in politics and public affairs, including the United Nations in New York and the UK renewable energy industry. He led the solar industry's successful 2008-2010 campaign for the feed-in tariff. After a period living in Gloucestershire, he is back in the Chilterns and is once again standing up for local residents against HS2. Seb is an advisor to the Wendover HS2 Mitigation Action Group, and has been a vocal critic of HS2's current plans to send dozens of HGVs along residential roads in Wendover.

Our Priorities for Wendover, Halton, and Stoke Mandeville

The May 1st elections in Buckinghamshire will be a clear choice between a fresh start with the Lib Dems or more of the same with the Conservatives.

  • We will champion our precious local environment, including standing up to HS2. Our AONB countryside must be protected from further inappropriate development.

  • We will make parking issues a priority. We will bring together Buckinghamshire council, our Parish councils and Chiltern Railways to put in place a proper parking strategy for the local area. As a minimum, the free hour parking at Council car parks should be reinstated.

  • We will hold utilities to account for road works that inconvenience local people and disrupt local businesses

  • We will support the roll out of electric car charging points in the right locations.

  • The provision of SEND education services in Buckinghamshire is in crisis. It is something we care about deeply and it just can't go on. A Liberal Democrat council would make addressing the shortfall in local provision an absolute priority.

  • If elected, we will work constructively with all parties, as we have done previously in our roles on other local councils.

The Wendover, Halton, and Stoke Mandeville ward is part of Buckinghamshire Council, a unitary authority established in April 2020 through the merger of the former county and district councils.

For the local elections in May 2025, residents will be able to vote for two candidates to represent them on Buckinghamshire Council. Parish council elections will also take place in Wendover, Halton and Stoke Mandeville (Hawkslade, Stoke Grange, Stoke Leys, and Stoke Mandeville Village).
